Pair of earthenware plates from Creil and Montereau, decorated with carnations, 1876-1920

A pair of antique ironstone dishes from the prestigious Creil and Montereau factory, renowned for the quality and elegance of its decorative printing. The Carnation pattern captivates with its stylized floral design in warm, decidedly contemporary hues: soft oranges, deep browns, and graphic black, against a luminous ecru background. A striking and decorative motif that transcends time with remarkable modernity. The set comprises a large oval platter with generous lines and a smaller vegetable dish with handles, resting on a small foot. Stamped Creil and Montereau, dating from 1876–1920, they represent the final decades of the prestigious Creil and Montereau factory, before it adopted the HBCM brand. Beautiful vintage condition considering their age, with a consistent patina and lovely presence, a beautiful shine, and fine micro-scratches from use, discreet reminders of their history. There is a small chip on the rim of the handled platter and slight wear to the decoration on one side. Very slight wear to the rim on the large platter (see photos).
