Tableau HST Adrien KARBOWSKY (1855-1945) lavender harvest (?)

Antique painting (late 19th century, early 20th century) executed in oil on canvas framed (of the period). The work is signed (possibly by Adrien Karbowsky, specialist's opinion needed, see attached bio). Good condition - everything is visible in the photos. Dimensions of the frame: 38 / 55 cm Biography: Born in Paris to a Polish family, Adrien Karbowsky attended the Polish School in Paris, then became a student of Puvis de Chavannes and frequented the studios of Jean-Baptiste Lavastre, decorator of the Paris Opera, and Justin Lequien. In 1889, he participated in the public competition opened by the General Council of the Seine and was awarded the task of creating the pictorial decoration of the town hall of Nogent-sur-Marne, which he completed in the style of Puvis de Chavannes. At the occasion of the 1900 Exposition Universelle, the Central Union of Decorative Arts presented its pavilion, which consisted of four adjoining rooms. For one of them, the wood salon, Georges Hoentschel (1855-1915) was selected as the decorator with Adrien Karbowsky as a collaborator, along with Frédéric Deschamps (Saint-Erblon) and manufacturer Ferdinand Leborgne. This salon was also presented at the 1904 International Exposition in St. Louis and, in 1905, it was placed in the Marsan pavilion during the inauguration of the Museum of Decorative Arts. In the spring of 1912, he was in Venice. During World War I, he made many sketches and drawings that he sent to newspapers. A painter of still lifes, flowers, and portraits, he also practiced fresco. He decorated the Max-Jacob theatre in Quimper, designed and conceived buildings including the Mayoral temple in Nogent-sur-Marne. Karbowsky became a member of the Société des artistes français in 1883, as well as the Société nationale des beaux-arts and the Salon des Tuileries.
