Designed by Danish designer Erik Buck in the classic mid-20th century style, this chair is characterised by an organic and fluid stylistic language. Chair No. 49 (created in 1949) was one of Buck's first successes. This model stands out with its seat that appears to float. During his lifetime, Buck remained virtually unknown, which explains the little information that has come down to us about him. Even the date of his death remains uncertain (1973 or 1982). His work was only rediscovered with the resurgence of popularity of mid-20th century Scandinavian design. Made of solid teak. Upholstered in fabric. Very good condition. Upholstery shows slight discolouration.
