A superb pair of vintage armchairs with a simple and timeless aesthetic. Made of stained solid wood with natural braided rope seats, these armchairs perfectly reflect the humanist French modernism of the 1950s–70s. Their functional and inviting design evokes the work of Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Gautier-Delaye, and Georges Tigien, emblematic figures of post-war handcrafted furniture. The frames have a consistent and robust patina, and the seats are taut and comfortable. An authentic set, ideal for an interior with a Southern French, architect-designed, or slow-deco aesthetic. Very good overall condition, original patina preserved. The braiding is strong, stable, and clean. Some minor signs of age consistent with their condition, without affecting their use or appearance.
