Gateleg Table – Jacobean Style – Thos Turner Manchester – Solid Oak

Gateleg drop-leaf table in solid oak, stamped Thos Turner, Manchester, an English manufacturer active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The oval top is made of wide boards featuring a characteristic medullary figure of quality oak. The base consists of a fixed central frame flanked by two pivoting gates mounted on twisted legs (barley twist), a typical motif of the Jacobean and William & Mary English styles. The central frame is equipped with two drawers, featuring a rococo-style brass handle. The wood's patina is original. The whole piece has been restored and is in perfect overall condition, with no further intervention required. Dimensions: H. 75 cm – L. 120 cm – Estimated weight: 60 kg.
