Large traditional Indian box made of carved wood, probably originating from Rajasthan, dating from the late 19th century, around 1880–1900. It features a construction with two cylindrical compartments closed by pivoting lids, each decorated with a significant geometric floral motif surrounded by an engraved frieze. The whole piece shows a beautiful old patina, with wear, dark nuances, and signs of use consistent with its age. This type of box was used to store spices, masala blends, or other condiments in a domestic context. Dimensions: approximately 31 × 13 × 11 cm. A beautiful ethnographic and decorative object, both functional and representative of ancient traditional Indian craftsmanship.
