Flat desk with pull-outs – Louis XVI style – Gilded bronze – Early 20th century

Flat desk in Louis XVI style, made of stained mahogany, dating from the early 20th century. The rectangular top is covered with a burgundy Skaï upholstery, framed by a gallery in gilded brass. Two extendable side pull-outs covered in Havana leather (32 cm each) allow for an enlarged work surface. The front features two drawers adorned with bronze lock entries; one lock is missing. The tapered and fluted legs, characteristic of the Louis XVI style, are enhanced with gilded bronze capitals and feet. There is slight oxidation on the bronzes and some scratches noted on the top, consistent with the age of the piece. Height under the frieze: 60 cm. Dimensions: H. 76 cm – W. 110 cm – Weight: 28 kg. Workshop report: replacement of the missing lock entry is to be expected; cleaning and restoration of the bronzes are feasible. All restorations can be carried out upon request by our workshops.
