Art Deco Commode – Walnut Burl Veneer & Marble – 1930s

Commode with four drawers from the Art Deco period, circa 1930, made of solid walnut and book-matched walnut veneer with a symmetrical medallion effect. The top is made of grey marble veined with white and grey, framed by a characteristic black lacquered cornice of the Art Deco ornamental vocabulary. The drawers feature book-matched walnut veneer, creating an axial symmetry effect on the fronts. The handles are cylindrical metal bars in chrome, typical of the production from 1925 to 1940. The body rests on a stepped base rhythmically adorned with black lacquered mouldings that emphasise the horizontal lines of the piece. The item is entirely original according to the seller. Overall condition is good, with some minor signs of wear on the chrome handles and mouldings, consistent with the age of the piece. Cleaning and polishing are recommended.
