He is considered a major figure in post-war Italian design. Many of his elegant furniture pieces and lighting fixtures are now regarded as design classics. Born in Lima, Peru, in 1931, Tito Agnoli emigrated to Italy after World War II. He studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan, where he graduated in 1959. There, he met Gio Ponti and Carlo de Carli, and worked for a time as their assistant. Subsequently, he designed numerous furniture and lighting pieces for manufacturers such as Poltrona Frau, Arflex, Bonacina, and Oluce. The MissB bar stool dates from 1997. Some of his works are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He passed away in Milan in February 2012.
