On the left, a dark mass of vegetation and maritime pines dominates the shore, while the coastline gradually recedes towards the horizon. In the centre, a succession of rocks and low beaches accompanies the movement of the waves, opening the composition to a vast expanse of deep blue sea. The foreground is animated by the movement of the water, treated in broad overlapping strokes of turquoise blue, blue-grey, sea green, and frothy whites. The waves crash against the rocks in light and fragmented touches, creating a play of diagonal lines that naturally lead the eye towards the open sea. A few beaches and rocks in sandy, ochre, and sienna tones warm the overall cool palette. The sky occupies a significant part of the composition and is one of the most expressive elements of the work. Vast clouds of bluish-grey and slate unfold above the sea, revealing patches of pale blue sky and light. The material is generous, constructed with visible broad brushstrokes and successive flat areas, particularly sensitive in the sky, the spray, and the masses of vegetation. The forms are deliberately simplified, giving the landscape a free and contemporary feel while maintaining a strong naturalistic presence. The dramatic atmosphere of the sky contrasts with the brightness of the water and the glimpses of light on the horizon.
