Stoneware jug, French or European production from the 1950s to 1970s, belonging to the tradition of decorated utilitarian ceramics. The lower part of the body retains a deliberately nuanced brown stoneware. The upper part is covered with a light glaze, punctuated by stylised plant motifs applied in deep brown and moss green. A wide central frieze, worked in combed glazing, introduces a regular movement, almost textile. The neck features a variation in glazing related to the firing, visible and accepted. This detail reflects the artisanal process and is not a defect. Dimensions: – Height: 20.5 cm. – Neck diameter: 12 cm. – Central diameter: 13 cm. – Base diameter: 8 cm. – Capacity: 1.25 L A table object where the material takes precedence over ornamentation, where the decoration accompanies the gesture without ever dominating it.
