This Bouillotte lamp strongly embodies the refinement of the Empire style. It features two sliding light arms in gilded bronze, decorated with scrolls and acanthus leaves that evoke classical plant forms and elegantly support the candle holders. These arms rise from a central metal shaft, simple and slender, topped with a finely chiseled gilded bronze ring. This ring forms a delicate crown of flowers, adding a floral touch to the whole. The fixed lampshade is made of lacquered sheet metal in a blue-green colour. It is enhanced with two gilded fillets that elegantly outline its contours. This refined shade subtly conceals the two bulbs, diffusing a soft and muted light. The base of the lamp is particularly remarkable. It is adorned with two magnificent bronze swans, majestic, with wings spread, gracefully framing the base with strength and elegance. The pedestal, oblong in shape, is decorated on each side with a crown of laurels, the quintessential imperial symbol, which reinforces the solemn and historical character of the piece. ******* Period: Mid-19th century.
