Michèle van Hout le Beau created numerous designs in the 60s and 70s, working with many workshops in Aubusson and receiving public commissions (she participated, along with others such as Soulages, Lagrange, Alechinsky, etc., in the decoration of Air France's transatlantic Boeing 707s). Her work often revolves around striking colours (very 70s), on which stylised foliage, figures, or animals develop. This tapestry, with its acid tones, is very characteristic of the artist's style; one can also observe, on a theme extensively developed by Lurçat, the difference in the treatment of birds: the subject serves as a pretext for colourful geometric evocations close to abstraction.
