Groeneveldt birch bark bowl. Characteristic bowl in so-called "chamotte" or also "birch bark" technique with a special pink glazed interior. Executed in an artistic shape that is very decorative. In the late 1950s, groeneveldt introduced the characteristic 'travertine' effect, a crucial style in his post-war ceramics. Although the 1960s and 1970s brought hard times due to competition from cheap pottery, groeneveldt tried to survive by modernizing production processes. Molds and presses were used to produce faster and cheaper, but this was at the expense of the artistic quality. Despite the efforts of his team, a disappointed groeneveldt withdrew. Ultimately, this struggle led to the bankruptcy of the factory in 1972, after which it was taken over by the delfos family. An era thus came to an end. Country of origin: netherlands. Manufacturer: de groeneveldt aardewerkfabriek. Height: 6.5 cm. Width: 18 cm. Depth: 12.5 cm. This item can be sent by parcel post only in the eu.
