A bowl or ashtray made by Murano in Venice, Italy, in the 1950s or early 1960s. A classic example of the sommerso technique, where a glass layer in a certain colour (here chartreuse green) is submerged into another layer of glass when it’s still hot. This piece also has uniform air bubbles running throughout, known as bullicante. The piece is in excellent condition. It has two minor scratches at the bottom of the piece. Circa 11.5 cm wide and 6cm tall.
