Old engraving architecture columns

Antique engraving architecture columns: Egyptian, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian, Gothic. 19th century steel engraving/print in good condition. The steel engravings in this series are original plates from an 1858 publication. Subjects covered include agriculture, anatomy, architecture, astronomy, military, railways, chemistry and the chemical arts. The paper is medium to thick weight and pale cream in colour with characteristic ageing tones to the margins and occasional marks as would be expected since the plates are over 156 years old. Some of the pages were not cut quite straight during the binding process or are tattered at the binding edge. Blank on verso. The impression is medium to dark grey and is finely detailed.
