Set of 5 cups and 5 saucers MORVAN, pottery from Tamnay-en-Bazois, founded in 1932 by Gaston Gaubier (1894–1971), an emblematic figure of the ceramic revival in the Morvan. These pieces perfectly illustrate the craftsmanship of the workshop: a decoration achieved through the projection and fusion of metallic oxides, creating a flamed glaze with deep and shifting nuances. Cobalt blues, turquoise, enriched with touches of celadon, diffuse purples, and darker, almost mineral punctuations at the lower part, giving the whole a true visual density. These vibrant colours are obtained through a subtle mix of metallic oxides (iron, copper, manganese...) integrated into the glazes. Signed Morvan under each piece. In excellent vintage condition, shiny. Saucer diameter 13 cm, cup: height 5.5 cm, diameter 6.5 cm. Ideal for adding a neo-craft and expressive touch to contemporary interiors, between living material and a vibrant palette.
