Morvan cups and saucers in polychrome glazed ceramic

6 cups and their saucers signed MORVAN, remarkable for the richness and variety of its glazes (+ one cup offered). Each piece has its own decoration: turquoise, cobalt blue, pink, mauve, yellow, brown, and black blend on a light background in particularly vibrant speckled and flamed effects. No duo is truly identical, but the whole maintains a very beautiful coherence. These pieces are part of the tradition of ceramics from Morvan and the pottery of Tamnay-en-Bazois, notably associated with Gaston Gaubier and his research on glazes and flamed decorations. This technique has been continued by other ceramists, and the whole is presented as signed MORVAN, without certain attribution to Gaston Gaubier. The set includes 6 cup/saucer duos and a seventh additional cup. Overall vintage condition is good. The variations in glaze, small irregularities, and visible crazing contribute to the artisanal character of these old pieces (see photos). Saucers: diameter 12.5 cm, cups: diameter 6.5 cm – height 6 cm – width with handle 9 cm. Glazes from Morvan with almost pictorial colours.
