Set of three stoneware cups and their three saucers, created by the ceramic painter Charles Gaudry († 1990), based in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, an emblematic area of French stoneware ceramics. The cups feature simple and functional shapes, slightly flared, paired with wide and balanced saucers that highlight the simplicity of the design. The set showcases careful craftsmanship, true to the utilitarian and demanding approach of the ceramist. The glazes develop natural hues and a lively surface, resulting from the firing of the stoneware, with slight variations in appearance from one piece to another. These subtle differences contribute to the charm of the set and testify to an authentic artisanal production, made in small series. Each piece bears an incised stamp representing a stylised house, a characteristic signature of Charles Gaudry's workshop. In good vintage condition, with traces of firing and slight irregularities in the glaze consistent with the nature of stoneware and normal use, a small, barely visible chip on the edge of one of the cups (see photos). Dimensions (approximately): Cups: height 7 cm, diameter 6 cm. Saucers: diameter 13 cm. Pieces from a recognised ceramist of Puisaye. Ideal for a contemporary table art inspired by artisanal modernism, slow living, and aesthetics.
