Here is a set of 7 magnificent turned stoneware glasses or cups, with a beautiful speckled enamel in places in chocolate and coffee tones. Superb craftsmanship in both the throwing and the enameling. These glasses were made by the monks of Fontgombault Abbey (hand-marked intaglio under each glass) probably in the 60s or 70s when stoneware and these "natural" colors were very popular. I knew the pitchers and vases made at Fontgombault Abbey, but this is the first time I have come across glasses, a very nice discovery! They will be perfect for orangeade on the terrace this summer as well as for coffee or hot chocolate once winter comes. There are obviously small differences, especially in dimensions, between each glass. These glasses are in perfect original condition, no cracks, no chips, not even a chip. They measure between 10.5 cm and 11 cm in height with a diameter of approximately 8 cm.
