Low furniture from Maison Gautier

Low rectangular piece of furniture opening at the front with two drawers, made of mahogany or teak veneer. This piece stands out for its minimalist and functional design, typical of French production in the second half of the 20th century. Structure: The top surface is bordered by a slight rim (gallery) on three sides. Legs: Solid side uprights forming strong legs, offering a clean and robust silhouette. Details: Prominent circular satin metal pull knobs in a modernist style. Stamp: Presence of the original label inside one of the drawers: "Gautier - Quality Furniture - France". Condition: Signs of wear along the edges of the top and on the corners. Visible veneer loss at the base of one of the uprights (see detail photos). Scattered surface scratches. The patina of the metal handles is slightly oxidised.
