Very charming old watercolor signed and dated: messenger, 1930. The son of the painter jean-baptiste messager, adolphe messager (1855-1934) also gained notoriety in his native region (laval) and exhibited at the salons des artists français in the 1910s. An illustration of his taste for the representation of the architecture of his region, this watercolour with a harmonious composition still enjoys a beautiful rendering of colors and contrasts. To mention however: some freckles of paper and lack on the upper right corner of the frame.
