A beautiful Midcentury Modern desk, table, or bedside lamp from the 1950s. Designed by Julius Theodor Kalmar and manufactured by J.T. Kalmar in Vienna, Austria. This lamp is a version of the “Stilfix” model (No. 1257) or the “Style” model (No. 1213). This charming piece features a swivelling shade in a bright yellow (probably more lemon yellow than egg yolk yellow), mounted on a beautifully crafted joint, making it fully adjustable in all directions. The base is made of black cast iron with an integrated switch, while the neck of the lamp is polished brass with an attractive woven plastic cord handle. The lamp is in good original condition, unrestored, with a lovely patina throughout, and the shade still retains its original paint. Currently wired to European standards (E27), it will be fully rewired to the electrical standards of your country (e.g., E26 for the USA, E27 for Europe, etc.). Very versatile in its use: perfect as a desk lamp, but also elegant as an accent or bedside lamp.
