Oak dining table with a powerful appearance, typical of French production from the 1940s. Large thick top with sharp edges, resting on two massive "portico" legs connected by a stretcher, ensuring stability. The legs are rhythmically designed with sculpted/stepped uprights, a subtle decorative detail that is very architectural. Beautiful presence of oak and generous proportions, ideal as a dining table or large work table. A model with a modernised rustic style that works very well in a contemporary interior as well as in a more classic decor. Charles Dudouyt (1885–1946) is a notable figure in French furniture from the interwar period and the 1940s, known for his robust oak furniture. He developed a recognisable vocabulary: solid volumes, portico legs, sculpted details, and a strong emphasis on woodwork.
