Covered vegetable dish and its silver-plated leafy metal stand. Hallmarks and signature Boulenger, silversmith. Used condition, superficial scratches on the dish. Period: late 19th, early 20th century. Dimensions: dish diameter 33 cm; vegetable dish diameter 22.5 cm, total height approximately 12 cm; weight 6.100 kg. Ref adequantik 2109733. Silversmith's hallmark: "BOULENGER" and a crescent; Master silversmith: Adolphe Boulenger. This hallmark was inscribed on 23 June 1876 and erased on 9 April 1899. The company was founded in Paris in 1810 by Mr. Boulenger-Hautin, active until 1938, specialising in tableware. In 1864 it was taken over by the founder's nephew, Adolphe Boulenger, and became "A. Boulenger & Cie" located at 4 rue du Vert Bois in Paris. His son, Charles Boulenger, took over after his father's death in 1898, and the company became "Ch. Boulenger & Cie".
