Rare vintage oriental covered serving dish in silver-plated metal, mid-20th century.

Very elegant oriental silver-plated serving dish, probably of Moroccan manufacture, consisting of a tripod tray with two handles, a removable intermediate element, and a domed lid with a ball knob. Vintage from the mid-20th century, 1950-1970. Beautiful classic and understated line, highlighted with beaded friezes, handles, and feet decorated with shells. The inside of the lid bears a stamped mark consisting of a five-pointed star surrounded by Arabic characters. 40cm maximum width including the handles, 30cm maximum diameter for the tray, 4.8cm height for the base alone. Intermediate element of 25.5cm diameter and 4cm height. Lid of 21cm diameter, 9cm maximum height with the knob, about 6cm without. Very good overall condition for its age, with a slight residual patina despite recent cleaning and some usage scratches on the exterior. The interior shows a discreet loss of silver, with the underlying metal also silvered (alpaca?), small signs of oxidation, and more pronounced usage scratches on the bottom of the tray. Approximately 2kg.
