Large Bay Keramik vase in blue and ochre ceramic – West Germany, 47 cm

Large vintage glazed ceramic vase by Bay Keramik, made in West Germany in the 1960s and 1970s, as indicated by the "BAY W-GERMANY" marking under the base. This iconic Fat Lava style piece combines a strong sculptural presence with a richly textured decoration. The vase measures 47 cm high and 18 cm in diameter. Its slender shape with a ribbed neck features an integrated handle, and its body is punctuated by five horizontal friezes in relief depicting stylized birds with outstretched wings, against a deep blue background. These motifs are framed by bands of ochre enamel with slightly raised dots. The overall effect is enhanced with a nuanced bluish-brown glaze, typical of Bay productions of this period. The condition is excellent: no cracks, chips, or restorations, with a well-preserved, glossy, and even glaze. A statement piece, perfect for a mid-century feel or a contemporary interior with retro accents.
