Early 19th Century Oak Wainscot Chair

Early 18th century oak wainscot armchair in the Tudor style. Fantastic wood grain in the oak panels, joinery and carvings; the back has wonderful floral carvings, even the top of the armrests and front of the seat has carved patterns. The front legs are turned. The legs are unlike most wainscot chairs and the chair seat is at 36cm lower than most wainscot chairs. Hence it seems to be a transitional piece that combines later styles with the Tudor style. This armchair is a truly stunning example of craftsmanship combined with decorative arts.
