Hans Erik Johansson „Saturn” Sofa for Westbergs Möbler, Midecntury Design, 1960s

This is a stunning piece of a famous swedish designer hans erik johansson. Beautifully shaped aluminium base and fiberglass seating combined perfectly in „saturn” design. Hans-erik johansson managed to design and lead the production of seating furniture with striking aerodynamic features. The background to the design can possibly be found in johansson’s interest in flying machines and the swedish air force. This piece was carefully renovated. The seating was reupholstered with high-quality fabric from best danish brand kvadrat (100% new wool). The black fabric used on the inside is linen combined with cotton. This particular design is extremely rare to be found nowadays.
