Magnificent and iconic pair of Plia chairs by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli. Italy first original edition 1967. Chromed steel structure. Seat and backrest in transparent plexiglass. Very good condition. Some signs of wear, micro scratches. Nothing significant, see photos. Please contact us for any questions. Fast and very careful shipping. "At its presentation in 1967 at the Milan Furniture Fair, the chair received such acclaim from the public that many visitors left the stand carrying those on display. Following this unorthodox compliment, the chairs were secured in the booth with a chain. Thanks to Plia and its study on the 'three-disc pivot', revolutionising the concept of the folding chair, Giancarlo Piretti enters history with the nickname 'Thonet of the 20th century'. Available in different colours, from the steel structure to the seat and backrest, it even offers a version with Vienna straw stretched over a solid wood frame, further enriching an icon of entirely Italian style."
