Unique set of 6 chairs made in the early 1990s by a French designer and blacksmith. They strongly illustrate the surrealist heritage characteristic of this period, with its bold fantasies and ornaments. The structure is entirely made of wrought iron, showcasing great finesse. Meanwhile, the seat is upholstered in off-white Alcantara from Maison Lelièvre, providing a soft contrast to the rigidity of the metal. The design of the legs, very sculptural, evokes a bouquet spreading out on the ground before converging beneath the seat. At its centre, a gilded bronze flower punctuates the composition, serving as both a decorative and symbolic element that enhances the organic inspiration of the whole. The backrest consists of a circle crossed by a vertical line extending into handles, facilitating grip. This formal vocabulary recalls certain models created in the 1960s, notably the Coffee Bean model by Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne, where furniture approaches sculpture and draws direct inspiration from nature. These chairs thus reflect the late-century taste for expressive furniture, blending exceptional craftsmanship, unique material work, and a narrative approach to form. This set is in perfect condition, fully restored by our workshop.
