Vintage table lamp, onyx base, antique pleated lampshade, found in Alsace and updated in my Strasbourg workshop. Vintage table lamp, onyx base. Estimated period of origin: 1920s-1930s. Origin: France, this type of lamp was often made in France, particularly by houses specializing in high-end lighting, and could be sold in department stores or by decorators influenced by the Art Deco movement. Style: Onyx was a popular material in the 1920s-30s for lighting and decorative objects. It was often used in combination with gilded metal, brass, or patinated bronze. The geometric and balanced shapes of the base confirm the Art Deco inspiration, where people sought to combine luxury and modernity with noble materials. Antique lampshade refurbished. Pleated and decorated with ribbon and a matching pompom finish. "Liberty London" fabric printed with a floral pattern. Lamp height with shade: 51 cm. Lamp base height: 28 cm. Lamp base diameter: 22 cm. Bottom shade diameter: 25 cm. Top shade diameter: 20 cm. It is designed to work with an e14 bulb. Original electrical cable and switch revised, new socket.
