1960s desk

This large designer desk with 2 ministerial pedestals was designed by Jacques Hitier. It was produced by Charron in the 1950s. There is no designer's mark, but it features characteristics of his work. It consists of a wooden top with a glass plate on top, veneered plywood in mahogany, fixed on 6 square tubes in black lacquered metal. The pedestals have drawers of 3 different sizes, including one for hanging files, plus a shelf in each pedestal. One shelf is for supplies and another is multi-purpose. The handles are in black lacquered aluminium. The desk rests on 6 legs in black lacquered metal with adjustable solid brass tips. Key not included.
