The drawing, with great scientific rigour, is balanced by an elegant and decorative composition, highlighting leaves, flowers, and stems in their various states. It reproduces sober and nuanced colours, close to watercolour, with a concern for readability, also in herbalism. This plate, dating from the mid-20th century, served as medicinal advertising with the advertisement on the back. The illustration depicts a tea plant with its characteristic serrated green leaves and delicate white flowers with a golden yellow centre.
