Rare set of ceramics by Mexican artist Bernardo Zaldizar, a master potter from the 1960s in Mexico, and more specifically from the village of Tzintzuntzan which is located in the north of the state of Michoacan. Most of the pieces in the same set are signed on the back with the initials BZ for Bernardo Zaldizar. Once a large, bustling town, Tzintzuntzan has evolved into a small community specializing in the manufacture of artisanal pottery. The area is also the location of the ancient ruins (yakatas) of five large temples. The pieces are all handmade in clay and decorated with various animals, including fish hunting. This set includes: - 4 round plates diameter 22cm. Height 2.5cm - 1 deep plate diameter 18cm, height 5cm - 1 oval dish length 32cm X width 24cm X height 5cm - 2 cups/mugs height 10cm, diameter 9.5cm, they are not really round as handmade. Slight chip on one of the mugs, see photo. Total weight of the pieces: 5 kgs 100 Set in excellent general condition, some traces of time but in very good condition. Slight chip on one of the mugs.
