Empire Hussar Cavalry Wall Plaque in Ceramic

Important high-relief mural of popular art in glazed terracotta, handcrafted in Belgium. This wall sculpture, highly realistic, represents a hussar on horseback from the First Empire, more specifically a trumpeter identifiable by his inverted sky blue uniform and his red trumpet flame trimmed with gold. Wearing a fur colback, he rides a rearing white stallion. The details of the briquet sword, the cartridge box with the imperial eagle emblem, and the golden epaulettes demonstrate superb historical accuracy. The reverse in raw terracotta features its original iron suspension wires embedded in the mass, as well as an official sealed label "Made in Belgium." A workshop signature is discreetly engraved at the tip. Workshop: Belgian Art Production (Thulin / Wasmuël Style) Period: Circa 1960 / 1970. Subject: Trumpeter of the Napoleonic Hussars.
