Secretary with a drop front, inlaid in the Louis XV style, circa 1900. An elegant drop-front secretary in walnut and marquetry, in the Louis XV style, dating from the early years of the 20th century. Its gently curved lines, characterised by great sobriety, are enhanced by rich floral marquetry in various woods that adorn the façades and the upper drawer. The drop front reveals an interior composed of a shelf, four small drawers, and a spacious work area, offering furniture that is both practical and refined. The quality of the woods, the delicacy of the floral decorations, and the harmony of the proportions testify to particularly meticulous cabinetmaking. The piece opens with a drawer at the top, a large drop front forming a writing surface, and two doors at the bottom concealing a storage space. It rests on four cabriole legs ending in bronze sabot feet and features original gilded bronze ornamentation (lock entries, handles, and central drop). With its balanced dimensions and elegance, this secretary will fit well in both classic and contemporary interiors. Dimensions: Width: 88 cm. Height: 150 cm. Depth: 48 cm. In very good condition. Beautiful original patina, functional drop front mechanism, slight signs of use consistent with its age.
