Alsatian jug from the end of the 19th century

Jug, beige/ochre paste with salt-glaze, typical of Alsatian utilitarian stoneware productions Cobalt blue decoration, quickly applied with a brush: plant or abstract motifs, very common on Soufflenheim Alsace stoneware Shape: globular body, narrow neck with an attached handle → typical of wine, cider or beer jugs. Base: unglazed, thrown, without visible mark → common use, rather than a piece of art earthenware.
