Vintage Vallauris ceramic tile - Floral decoration

Explosion of colours for this tile, a true testament to the revival of French ceramics from the 60s-70s, this decorative tile (or trivet) was made at the La Roue workshop in Vallauris. This charming tile features a polychrome floral composition (rose, mauve iris, blue anemone) on a nuanced green background. The style is typical of the workshop: a thick black line highlighting the shapes, reminiscent of stained glass, and a glossy "fat" glaze with vibrant colours. It is signed "Vallauris La Roue, " visible in the decoration at the bottom right. An original gilded metal frame with a suspension ring allows it to be hung on the wall. As an antique, it is in beautiful condition. Note a slight crazing of the glaze (natural cracks) that attests to its authenticity and age. Ideal for a mix-and-match wall decoration or to bring a vintage "French Riviera" touch to your interior.
