Decorative frame of the early 19th century inspired by the work of pierre-joseph redouté. Botanical drawing on ancient paper. This work is from a private collection that included other works by redouté students. The influence of redouté is revealed in particular in the representation of the small flowers "primula auricula" dear to the master. No legible signature. A trace at the bottom right looks like a signature that would have been almost completely erased. Dimensions: 31 cm by 26 cm frame included. The frame and the glass are old. A label on the back is named after the framer (at the abeille paris). Pierre-joseph redouté (1759-1840) is a belgian painter, engraver, publisher and teacher, best known for his flower watercolours. In 1798, josephine de beauharnais became her protector and in fact, a few years later, her official painter.
