Ceramic plant pot

Elegant pot in earthenware dating from the 19th century, made by Edmé Samson in Paris (1810-1891) and stamped underneath. This beautiful piece features a rich polychrome decoration inspired by heraldry, with central coat of arms framed by winged creatures, surrounded by delicate floral motifs. The painted decoration is complemented by fine white relief ornaments that add depth and refinement to the whole. The borders are highlighted with golden fillets, while two small side handles complete the elegant silhouette of the pot. Characteristic of the decorative productions of the Samson house in the 19th century, this piece reflects the period's taste for ancient porcelain and earthenware and grand European decorations. With generous dimensions, this pot can accommodate a large plant or be displayed alone as a decorative collectible, in a conservatory, winter garden, entrance, or classic interior.
