Two impressive sculptural wall sconces produced by the company Raak in the 1960s. The model, called "Balans" (c1550), was designed by Bertrand Balas, an architect from Toulouse. This design is well documented in several Raak catalogs from the 1960s and 1970s and is clearly influenced by the brutalist art movement of that time. An excellent opportunity to purchase as a set in a similar colour palette and size. Despite their age, these wall lamps by Bertrand Balas remain in excellent vintage condition with a small opening on the side. Both fixtures are suitable for integrated wall installation or external wiring. The two lamps are in good condition, fully re-electrified with matching colour palettes, and retain their original suspension parts. The lamps are made of gilded brass with a fine grain texture. They can be installed with the opening facing upwards or downwards, allowing for flexible arrangements, whether individually or in composition. When placed together, their orientation can be interpreted freely, creating a dynamic luminous display. Price for both lamps.
