String shelf in golden metal wires

Very lightweight, modular, easy to dismantle and move, the String shelves were designed by Kajsa and Nils Strinning for a competition launched by a Swedish publishing house to encourage book buying in 1949! Among the many variations that exist, this model is quite rare: entirely made of golden metal rods (with a round section), including the shelves. Completely transparent, therefore, ideal for not overloading the room's decor, maintaining a minimalist, clean, and very elegant spirit. The assembly system is the same: a hanging shelf in 5 pieces, 2 uprights, and 3 shelves that are inserted onto the uprights and can, for this model, be used in both directions, with the small edge facing up or down. Found in a house where all the furniture was vintage, harmoniously blending wicker, Scandinavian style in light wood, and golden metal, it dates from the 60s or 70s. It is in very good overall condition, solid, with intact welds, no deformations, but it does show a few signs of its age: the golden metal is patinated, probably less shiny than it was at the time and very slightly pitted in rare places. It measures 55 cm in width, 57 cm in height (height of the uprights), and 17 cm in depth.
