Here is alexandre kostanda in vallauris: a pitcher in glazed stoneware, floral decoration, abstract and natural colors with well-balanced proportions. Signed below. Period: around 1950-1970. Can be used as a vase. Dimensions: height: 22 cm, diameter: 12.5 cm, length: 14 cm. Weight: 1, 000 kg, package: 2 kg approx. Other pieces of this ceramist are listed. Set in perfect condition, as in the photos, no shine or crack or restoration. Alexandre kostanda born in 1924 is a ceramist of polish origin, began his apprenticeship in 1936 with louis giraud in vallauris, then taught in biot before settling in 1942 in cluny, high link of ceramics. In 1949 he returned to vallauris. He was one of the organizers of the vallauris international ceramic biennial in 1968. His elaborate pieces of a mixture of sandstone and vallauris earth are of refined forms with abstract or floral decorations with natural hues with a rustic appearance.
