Chesterfield Regency Serpentine Sofa in Hand-Dyed Leather

We are delighted to offer for sale this sumptuous Regency Chesterfield club sofa, restored circa 1810-1820, hand-dyed in cigar brown leather. This sofa is of exceptional rarity, an original Regency period model with a serpentine front, extremely rare. It is upholstered in horsehair, the seat is spring-loaded, and the frame and legs are made of solid mahogany. The leather has been fully restored, including washing, hand-dyeing, and sealing, ready for a new family. The wood has been fully polished. The dimensions are: Height 77 cm, Width 189.5 cm, Depth 101 cm, seat height 44.5 cm, measurements taken at the widest point. Condition is good, finish redone with wear consistent with age and use. The hand-dyed leather should not be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods to avoid drying and discolouration. We recommend regular polishing to maintain moisture.
