Mid century swedish oil on canvas - 'demoiselle'

This beautiful oil depicts a collection of intricately painted objects on what is most likely a lady’s dresser. It is painted such that the viewer is herself sitting at this very table, just about to catch herself in the reflection of the mirror. A lady’s dresser is more than just a place to beautify oneself – it is a private space where she can take a moment to pause, reflect and unwind. Her collection of precious sentimental objects lay neatly before her, reminders of bygone days. The mirror in the painting captures the reflection of the objects on the table, but stops short at the point where we would see our own reflection – a seemingly simple yet rather effective angle chosen by the artist. Painted by britt bräckis rosén, the oil painting is housed in a tasteful thin rounded gold frame. It is in excellent vintage condition with only some very minor scuffing to the frame.
