Ikebana basket, traditional asian art, in woven bamboo. Vintage early to mid 20th century. Bamboo. This bamboo basket is a flower basket from the late meiji era (hanakago) designed specifically for ikebana, the japanese art of flower arranging. Woven from smoked bamboo (susutake), the basket has a rounded shape, topped with a high arched handle. Flat bottom diameter 20 cm on a small circular foot of 13 cm.
