Pair of 140.5cm high by 100cm wide separation grilles each, Art Deco period, circa 1925, unsigned French work. Heavy wrought iron model, each grille weighing nearly 35kg. Wrought iron assembly welded for all the rolling parts and screwed for the rest. Very high quality welds and assemblies. Stepped decoration, composed of three rolling bearings contrasting with the straight and sinuous vertical lines. Interesting work alternating flat and hammered iron between the straight and sinuous vertical parts giving volume to the whole. Each upright is provided with its attachment (to be sealed in the masonry) and a pivot in its lower part. The positioning of each of the doors is done using a low target on the ground (see photos) with which they are both equipped, nothing connects them together (latch or bolt). They were installed in a large room in the "closed" position, leaving a wide passage between the two elements. This makes it possible to consider blocking one of the two and leaving a leaf free for example, or to position them in two separate frames... However, the strongly pronounced cut was made to guide the eye from one room to the other like a decoration by giving a vanishing point, which made it possible to mark the space while letting the light pass through without partitioning it. We have chosen to present these grilles to you as they are, completely cleaned while retaining their patina and some traces of old paint (see photos). These grilles are ready to install! Dimensions: at the highest 140.5cm, 67cm high at the lowest, 102.5cm wide for each grille (including the floor bolt and the wall attachment ring) and 1.5cm deep. Weight: approximately 70kg in total
