SAINT-LOUIS Antique liqueur glass METRA double violet crystal Roemer Overlay

This charming liqueur glass is made of double-layered crystal and cut by SAINT-LOUIS. Lined with a beautiful violet hue, it is the vintage model from the 1930s: METRA. The overlay technique is a specialty of Saint-Louis: a first layer of transparent crystal is covered with a second coloured layer, which is then cut to reveal the underlying crystal. In a lovely aubergine violet colour, this glass is adorned with a diagonal cut topped with a frieze of stars. It is the Métra model from Saint-Louis (see 1930 catalogue Pl 28 and 20). Not signed (dating from before 1936), it is in very good condition and measures 12 cm in height X 4.8 cm in diameter. I note some signs of use.
