Its solid walnut frame features a magnificent asymmetrical pediment sculpted in high relief, adorned with a shell, small flowers, and finely executed leafy scrolls. Its natural waxed wood finish beautifully highlights the grain and depth of the wood's essence. It bears the number 422 on the back, marked in ink, indicating an old inventory number from a grand estate or private collection. Superb condition for its great age. Magnificent patina.
